Uniform

We feel that the wearing of uniform encourages the children to develop the right attitudes towards school and that it gives them the sense of belonging to Scarning Primary School.

Care has been taken to enable parents to purchase clothing from stores of their own choice but school sweatshirts, fleeces and T-shirts printed with the school’s logo can only be ordered from the school.

Physical Education

The children must have a change of clothing for these activities. They will need navy shorts, white T-shirt or with school logo and plimsolls.

Children in KS2 should also have a pair of jogging trousers and a sweatshirt suitable to wear for PE lessons outside. These articles of clothing should be brought to school in a small named bag to be kept on your child’s peg in the cloakroom area. We expect PE kit to be available in school every day.

Long hair must  be tied up on day of PE lesson – please ensure your child’s hair is either tied up before coming to School or provide a band for them to tie it up for PE.

Swimming

One-piece swimsuits or trunks and a towel are required for swimming lessons. These are to be brought to school on the day of the lesson in a named bag. Please note that for safety reasons swimming shorts and bikinis are not allowed.

Lost Property

Please could all articles of school clothing, especially school sweatshirts and fleeces, be named or marked clearly with your child’s name to prevent articles of clothing being lost. At the end of each half term we will go through the lost property box. Anything with a name will be returned to the right class, everything else will be taken to a clothing recycling centre.

Telephones in School

No telephones or pagers are allowed in school. A child wishing to contact a parent during the day should go to the main office. When visiting school, parents are asked to turn off their telephones.

Jewellery in School

Children with pierced ears should only wear stud style earrings. All earrings must be removed for all PE activities, as well as for swimming.  No other jewellery is allowed.
