Grade 3 Monitoring visit.
As a school judged Satisfactory at the last Ofsted inspection (December 2009) we knew there was the possibility of what is known as a Grade 3 Monitoring visit. Ofsted say that “the inspection covers aspects of the framework for school inspection, but is selective and focussed sharply on the improvements made by the school since the last Section 5 inspection and the extent to which it is demonstrating a better capacity for sustained improvement”.
Such a visit took place on Thursday 10th February of this year. We were contacted on the Wednesday and inspected on the Thursday. The inspecting officer was Mr. Ian Seeth an HMI. The school was supported by Mr. John Sweet, the Area Senior Primary School Development Advisor and by our Chair and Vice Chair of Governors, Mr. Jason Tuley and Mr. Robert Barber respectively.
The outcome of the monitoring visit is not a full report but a monitoring letter. It has the same status as an inspection report and is published on the Ofsted website.
