We are a group of parents who volunteer to raise money for the benefit of the children at Scarning Primary School.  We organise many events throughout the school year which families can attend, including our Summer fete, Fireworks night and Christmas fete (including a visit from Santa for the children). Then there are events which are specifically for the children such as Easter egg hunt for reception children and school disco’s, amongst others.

All the money raised at these events goes towards making our school a better place for the benefit of our children.

Mary-Ann Van der Merwe, Ryan Woods, Tracy Mendham,  Gemma Theobald, Steve Theobald and Theresa Myhill.

We are always looking for new people to join our committee and help support these great events, to bring new ideas and further enhance our team.  If you can spare any time, then please come along to one of our regular meetings, which are held in the school.We advertise our meetings via the school’s text service alternatively feel free to approach any of us.

It’s not all about raising money though; it’s about spending it too! Below are a few of the projects and initiatives that we have supported in the past:-

Drum workshop for the whole school.

Donations for individual classes – The children along with their teacher decide how to spend their own money, to assist their education and enjoyment in that academic year.


New toys for the reception classes.

Choc ices for snackanory.

Lunchtime play equipment.

Leavers T-Shirts and party

Donation to the school texting service – This has been a fantastic communication tool, keeping us all informed of events, dates for our diaries and important information etc. We are committed to ensuring that the school can continue to utilise this facility.

Easter egg hunt (Reception) – Another fun event which would not be possible without the Fundraising Committee.


Mr King has provided us with a number of items to consider supporting during 2016/2017 academic year. As a committee we have agreed ( funds permitting) the following:-

£750 for special performances

£250 outside play equipment

£100 to each class (£1100)

£450 text service

£200 Year 6 leavers (Party and T.shirts)

£60 Easter egg hunt reception classes

We hope that with your help we can again produce some really worth while projects which benefit our children during the academic year.
